Barbara Jean (Kellner) McArthur

Barbara Jean McArthur, 74, of Woodstock passed away on April 3, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born on February 2, 1949, to Ned and Dorothy (Turks) Kellner in Port Washington, WI.

On August 7, 1970, Barbara married William McArthur in Vallejo, CA after only 4 official dates and a quick engagement.  She graduated from Marquette University with a BS RN degree in 1971 and thoroughly enjoyed her career working many years as a pediatric nurse with Children’s Medical Group (CMG).

Barb dedicated her whole life to giving.  Whether it was through the forty foster children they took into their home over the years, her own adopted children, grandchildren, or children she took care of through CMG, Barb was a nurturer and made everyone feel special and loved.

She lived her life to the fullest keeping her faith first, family second and all the rest third.   Arts and crafts with the kids, fishing, swimming and simply being with her kids and grandkids were in the highlight reel of Barb’s life. Those that knew her could tell you she also loved slot machines.  And, “Osh” the card game!  If you know you know.  Barb was all about bringing people together and she never met a stranger.

Barb is survived by her husband, William; children, Danya Michelle McArthur, Susan (Noel) Garcia, Angela (Erik) LoBue, Brandon (Roxanne) McArthur; and grandchildren, Will McArthur, Violet McArthur, Olivia McArthur, Anthony McArthur, Noah McArthur, Cisco Garcia, Miley Garcia, Zach LoBue, Ely LoBue, Lily LoBue, Liam McArthur, Izzy McArthur and Christian Tepetla.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13, from 9am until a Mass of the Christian Burial at 11am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake.   The burial will be at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
