00Eleanor L. Jacobson, nee Waghorne, 89, passed away March 29, 2018 at home surrounded by family, in Arlington Heights, IL. She was born May 3, 1928 in Oak Park, IL to Hester and Harry Waghorne and raised in Chicago.
She was a graduate of Foreman High School, Wright Junior College, and Northwestern University. She married the love of her life, Lowell Jacobson, in 1953. She lived in Park Ridge for many decades where she raised her family and more recently moved to The Moorings Presbyterian Home in Arlington Heights. Ellie was a kind and generous woman who loved her family above all else. She also loved travel, the color blue, and had the uncanny ability to always save room for dessert.
She leaves behind three children, Craig (Jane), Gail (the late Keith) Pascus, and Nancy (James) Chrystal; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie (Daniel Ong) Jacobson, Christine Jacobson, Brian, Andrew and Hayley Pascus, Kelly Chrystal, James (Jennifer) Chrystal, Kathryn (Oscar) Maitas, and Jacob and Kiernan Chrystal; and two great grandchildren, Leonardo and Oliver Maitas, all of whom are better for having been loved by her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lowell, in 1988; her dear son-in-law, Keith Pascus, in 2013; and her cherished companion of many years, James Atkinson, in 2014.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at 11am, Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Park Ridge Community Church, 100 S. Courtland Ave., Park Ridge, IL 60068. Interment will be private.
