Ernesto “Ernie” Laboy, 58, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 14, 2021, in Chicago, Il. He was born on December 30, 1962, to Severo (Jimmy) and Ana Laboy in Chicago Il.
He was the youngest of the Laboy brothers to the two parents. He attended Funston elementary, then later graduated from Kelvyn Park High School in 1981. It was there in High school where the seed was planted that he would meet Kelly Duignan his high school sweetheart. Ernie also graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
Ernie and Kelly reconnected after high school and got married on Saturday March 13, 2002. That’s when they made the move to Crystal Lake and called it home. Ernie loved spending time with his wife, his dogs, and of course his neighbors. He was extremely adventurous in youth, he went bungee jumping, he loved to snorkel, to travel with his mom to Puerto Rico or anywhere tropical but most of all he loved to live life to the fullest. He also loved his nieces and nephew tremendously.
Ernie and his brother Enrique (Quique) grew up in Chicago as well as Puerto Rico along with their parents. They did go back to Chicago to stay at one point, but home is wherever family is. He will always be remembered for lightening the mood when needed, calling his mother every day to check in on her, but most of all he will be joining his loved ones who are already waiting him. His father Severo (Jimmy) Laboy, his brother Enrique (Quique) Laboy and his wife Kelly Laboy and other loved ones who have passed away also too soon.
He is survived by his mother Ana M. Laboy, his sister-in-law Anna, his nieces Melissa and Marilyn, his nephew Enrique and wife Sasha, and his great nieces and nephews, Annalise, Lucciano, Valentino, Damiano, Giada.
May he rest in eternal peace.
