John Charles Pock, 75, of Arlington Heights, recently of Ingleside, passed away with his loving family by his side on November 29, 2019 from complications due to lung cancer. He was born on June 30, 1944 in Chicago to George and Dorothy (nee Fachet) Pock.
Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Army, 25th Infantry Division. He served during 1968-1969 in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal and 3 Bronze Stars for heroism in ground combat.
He retired after 45 years in the Tool and Die/Machinist industry. Recently purchasing his dream home on Fox Lake allowed him to enjoy his retirement by fishing with his best friend and brother-in-law, Bill Koznarski, and spending time with his family and loved ones.
Jack will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 50 years, JoAnn, nee Koznarski, with whom he was united in marriage on August 23, 1969 in Niles, IL; daughters, Kristen Pock of Henderson, NV and Heather (Mark) Rylko of Lake Zurich, IL; grandchildren, Jackson (9) and Evan (7) Rylko; brother-in-law, William (Patricia) Koznarski; nephew, Richard Koznarski; and by many beloved extended family, friends and granddogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his cousins, Richard (Laura) Taranko, Jeff Takacs, and his dear friend, Dennis Kazmerski.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Funeral service with military honors will be Thursday, December 5 at 11 AM at the funeral home with a visitation starting at 10 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private.
