Richard D. Truett

Richard D. Truett, 74, of Lake Barrington, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2022. He was born on February 25, 1947 in Risco, MO to Therman and Lucille Truett.

On August 19, 1967, Richard was united in marriage to Judith, nee Hennes, in Rubicon, WI. He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball, coaching girl's basketball and attending all of his grandchildren's various sports including hockey, football, baseball, cheerleading, softball, and horseback riding. He didn't miss many games or competitions when it came to his grandchildren. Rich spent time fishing, collecting rods and reels, and tackle boxes filled with fishing equipment. When they moved to Lake Barrington Richard went fishing daily and taught his grandchildren how to fish. He also enjoyed playing gospel music on his guitar while Judy accompanied him on her accordion.

In addition to his loving wife, Richard is survived by his daughter, Kim (Bob) Anderson; his grandchildren, Eric, Patrick, Kieley, and Alison; his sisters, Betty (Bill) Roberts and Judy Kay (Charles) Wade, Sherry Michel, and his brothers, Danny Kasinger (Sandra), and Rodney Truett.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia in 2016 and by his parents.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM, Friday, February 18, 2022 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. There will be visitation at the church from 10 AM until the mass. Interment will be private.
