Aina Lemanis, 76, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
She was born December 4, 1944 in Germany, the daughter of the late Peter and Lidija Garancis who had to flee to Germany from Latvia as refugees to avoid the Soviet occupation. Aina and her family lived in displaced person camps until she came to America in 1949 where she arrived in Chicago to start her new life.
Aina was a graduate from Morton West High School. She was a long-time Crystal Lake resident. She worked for many years at Joseph Spiess and most recently retired from Walgreens after 25 years as a Pharmacy Technician. If you asked Aina what the joy of her life was, she would say it was her family. She loved her children and her grandchildren, as well as brother and her extended family. Aina was known for her kindness and generosity.
Aina was the loving mother of Lisa (Chris) Dalton, Dace (Jeff) Olson and Peter (Rose) Lemanis; beloved grandmother of Luke, Emma, Parker, Dylan, and Savannah; and loving sister of John Lebedevs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Lemanis.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake.
