Born May 6, 1928 in Elgin, she passed away peacefully Wed. June 15, 2011 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Barrington, surrounded by her family.
Memorial visitation will be from 5p.m. to 7p.m. Wed. June 22, 2011 at Haase Derrick Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr, Twin Lakes, WI.
Interment is private.
Alene was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Jack Peter (August 2009), loving mother of Randy (Betsy) Freeman, Lori (Don) Hoeft, and Jennifer (Bryan) Bell, dear grandmother of Pip, Emma, and Becca Freeman, Ashley Hoeft, and Carter, Brandon, and Jackson Bell. Alene is also survived by her sister Lorie (John) Kley. She was precede in death by her parents and her husband.
Alene was a graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston. She enjoyed playing the piano and the ukulele and a game of Bridge with friends. Alene had a lifelong love of knitting but mostly loved spending time with family and friends in the Horseshoe.
