Alton Cedric Murphy II, affectionately known as A.C., age 29, of Crystal Lake, IL entered Eternal Life on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

A.C. was born on October 20, 1992, to Alton C. and Pamela E. Murphy in Houston, TX. He began his discipleship journey as a four-year-old when he became part of the AWANA Clubs in Albuquerque, NM. He confessed hope in Christ at the early age of six and was baptized at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Albuquerque, under the pastoral leadership of Bishop David Cooper.  After moving to Crystal Lake, IL in 1999, A.C. rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized at Trinity Baptist Community Church under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Dr. Michael J. Love at eleven years of age where he continued his discipleship journey.   A.C. knew, loved, and served Jesus.  He was a very active and willing participant in church and youth ministry activities, including singing in the choir.

A.C. was a graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School, Class of 2011. After graduation, he attended McHenry County College.  A.C. was a Jack of all trades, but helping people was his passion.  He assisted and helped care for his Nana during her brief stay here in Crystal Lake.  His final place of employment was Amada Senior Care where he assisted and worked with the elderly.

A.C. was preceded in death by his brothers, Christopher A. and Matthew A. Murphy; his cousin, Jeremiah I. Davidson; his paternal grandparents, Jerry A. (’21) and Ann F.P. Murphy (’14); and his maternal grandparents, Phillip J. (’19) and Willette J. Edmonds (’18).

A.C.’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his parents; his siblings, Faith H. and John D.A. Murphy; along with his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Great Aunts, Great Uncles, and a host of loving family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30, from 11am until the time of a service at 1pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
