Amy E. Foley, 50, of Lake in the Hills, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
She was born November 14, 1961 in Waukesha, WI to Janice (nee Redmann) Schwanke and James Foley.
Amy began her career as a sales associate at Carson's department store and went on to work at Allstate Insurance, as a manager at Panera Bread, was an associate at Harris Bank in Huntley, and most recently worked as a consultant for Pampered Chef.
She was a 1980 graduate of Prospect High School, a 1982 graduate of Harper College, and received her culinary arts degree from Elgin Community College in 2006.
Amy loved photography, hiking, nature, but especially cooking and baking. She lived her life to help other people and had a heart as big as the whole outdoors.
In addition to the love of her life for 30 years, Dan Bobowski of Lake in the Hills, Amy was the beloved daughter of Janice (Art) Schwanke of Salem, SC and James Foley of St. Louis, MO; loving sister of Terri Schneider of Crystal Lake, Donna (Bob) Watson of Palatine, and Peggy (Steve) Bucklin of Glenview; and was the beloved aunt of Colleen (Patrick) Cameron, Elizabeth (Scott) Gregerson, Julie and Rob Watson, and Bridget, Shannon, and Tara Bucklin. She is also survived by Dan's mother, Doris Bobowski of Arlington Heights; Dan's sister, Laura (Tom Gors) Bobowski of Woodstock; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, James Schneider.
A celebration of Amy's life will be held from 1-4 pm, on Saturday, July 21 in the Sycamore Room at The Morton Arboretum, 4100 IL Route 53, Lisle IL 60532 (please visit www.mortonarb.org for directions).
