Amy Fues Odom

February 14, 1964 — December 18, 2021

Davenport Crystal Lake

Amy Fues Odom was born February 14, 1964, in Milwaukee, WI to Barry and Judith (nee Kirchberg) Fues. She passed away peacefully on December 18, 2021, at home in the Village of Lakewood, IL.

Amy attended St. Anne Catholic School in Barrington prior to the family moving to Crystal Lake where she graduated from Crystal Lake South High School in 1982. Amy went on to study Art Education and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1986. She then went on to a 35-year career in technical sales, ultimately working alongside her brother Barry and her father Barry in the family business.

A dedicated figure skater from the age of 6, Amy skated and performed through her entire grade school and high school years and went on to skate for the Miami University Figure Skating Drill Team. Amy was an accomplished painter, producing countless pieces of artwork of her two loves: animals and nature. She had traveled Africa on safari as well as spent significant time in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan - the two places from where she took her animal and nature artwork inspiration. She also had a deep love for pets of her own and all those of family and friends.

Amy was a very active citizen, participating in her community meetings and ultimately serving as a board trustee at the Village of Lakewood. Amy was dedicated to her Catholic faith, showing a quiet but strong love for her church. She was a cancer survivor, a pillar of strength and kindness, with green eyes and a contagious laugh and smile. Beyond all, Amy was a dedicated aunt, cousin, sister, daughter, and a loving selfless friend to all who knew her and spent time with her.

Amy will be deeply missed by her father, Barry Fues; brothers, Barry (Carri) Fues, and Jason (Maria) Fues; nephew, Joseph Fues; nieces, Kathleen Fues, Maribella Fues and Gabriela Fues; special Mackenzie Rose; and countless relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judith K. Fues.
