Andrew "Andy" Jacobson

Andrew “Andy” Jacobson, age 49, of Crystal Lake, passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2025. He was born on July 6, 1975, in Rockford, IL to Susan and Richard Jacobson.

A dedicated truck driver for many years, Andy had an immense passion for his work and a deep love for the vehicles he drove. Whether it was washing them or diving into the intricacies of fixing them, he took great pride in every aspect of his trucks and cars. His love for vehicles was only matched by his affection for animals, particularly his beloved black lab, Jack, who was the love of his life. Jack passed away last year, but Andy found comfort and care from the staff at VCA Woodstock Animal Clinic, who made Jack’s final days peaceful and filled with love. Andy’s heart also held a special place for his cat Midnight - who had adopted Andy by jumping into his truck when he was a kitten.

A quiet and private person, Andy kept his personal life to himself, but those close to him knew him as someone who had a warm heart and a fierce loyalty to those he loved. He was a lifelong supporter of Chicago sports teams, particularly those enjoying a winning streak. His love for the city and its teams was as steadfast as his love for the things that brought him joy.

Andy will be deeply missed by his mother, Susan; his uncle and aunt, Tim (Jolene) Carson; his cousins, Robert (Jessica) and Heather Ritchie; his partner, Maria Cazares; and by many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 10 AM until the celebration of life service at 12 Noon at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake Cook Rd.), Barrington, IL 60010.
