Angeline A. Olszak

Angeline A. Olszak, a 63 year resident of Crystal Lake, entered eternal life Monday, October 9, 2017 at the age of 88.
She was born June 24, 1929 in Chicago to the late John Pawlowski and Mary (nee Zalewski).

As a young woman, Angeline traveled the country with a ballet troupe. She was united in marriage to John Olszak at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Chicago on Aug. 6, 1949. While raising her children, Angeline opened a ballet studio in Crystal Lake. At the age of 50 she became a nurse’s aide and then became an LPN working for Crystal Pines Nursing Home for 25 years. She retired at the age of 76 and with her husband, spent the winters in North Fort Meyers, Florida.
She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church for over 60 years, volunteering at St. Thomas Church and School and on the school board.

Angeline was the loving mother to David (Vicki) Olszak of Lindenhurst, the late Pam Schinkel, Denise (Paul) Krantz of Palatine, Cathy Cahill of Crystal Lake, Mary (James) Matthei of Lake in the Hills, Jane (Jim) Grant of Crystal Lake, John (Jackie) Olszak of Bolingbrook, Paul (Linda) Olszak of Crystal Lake, Tom (Autumn) Olszak of Phoenix, AZ, Peggy (John) Stahl of Genoa City, WI, Amy (Tony) Remke of Marengo, and Anna Olas of Prairie Grove; beloved grandmother to 33 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and sister to Genevieve Krupa.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Olszak; and her daughter, Pam Schinkel.

The visitation will be held Thursday, October 12 from 3-9 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake. Visiting will continue the following day, Friday, October 13 beginning at 9:30 a.m. with prayers at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with procession to follow to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Ave, for the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at McHenry Co. Memorial Park, Woodstock.
