Anita Leah (Brodien) Brazeau

Anita Leah Brazeau, age 56, of Lake Zurich, passed away at home May 14, 2020, from uveal melanoma.

She was born February 19, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Marshall and Judy Brodien (née Skarda).

Anita grew up in Mount Prospect, Illinois, where she met and fell in love with her neighbor and high school sweetheart Michael Brazeau. They were married December 6, 1981.  Anita found great joy in being with her family; she had fond memories of traveling and cooking together. Anita was very active and led a healthy lifestyle. Some of her favorite pastimes included working out, skiing, having coffee with friends, and going to the beach. Family was everything to Anita. She always proclaimed being a mother was her greatest reward. Anita loved being involved in her church and local community, and she had a special way of seeking out people who needed hope. She was known for her strong Christian faith, perpetual joy, endless generosity, and benevolent smile. Anita also had a passion for encouraging others to be better versions of themselves. Anita was a graduate of the Haskana Institute of Cosmetology and loved to use her skill in cosmetology to develop authentic relationships and minister to all. She was truly loved by many.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Michael; children Anna (Matthew) Darnall, Michael, and Matthew; grandchildren Jack and Levi Darnall; her mother Judy and stepfather Joe Brahin; brothers Marshall (Lisa) Brodien and John (Demitra) Brodien; nieces, cousins, and other dear relatives.

Anita was preceded in death by her father Marshall and her sister Christine Brodien.
