Anne Ganzer

The memorial service for Anne H. Ganzer (nee Hockett),79, of Barrington, formerly of Streator and Blue Island, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August  5, 2011 at the Lutheran Church of the Atonement,  909 E. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd), Barrington, IL 60010.  The Reverend Don Wink will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the church.

Born August 2,1931, in Centerville, IA, Anne passed away peacefully July 31, 2011 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.

Anne worked for Park Corporation in Barrington. She was an avid reader and belonged to two book clubs.  She also enjoyed playing the piano and writing.  Anne was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement, where she sang in the choir, volunteered for the PADS program, and delivered baby baskets.  She also served as the church secretary and receptionist.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph, whom she married Jan 11, 1950 in Macomb, IL.; son, Mark of Barrington; daughters, Gay (Michael) Offutt of Cary, Marianne Ganzer of Providence, RI;  grandchildren, Adam  James Ganzer , Scott David Offutt; brothers –in-law; Michael Magliola , William Richardson; and many loving nieces, nephews and good friends.

 She was preceded in death by her son, John Franklin Ganzer, her parents, Dale and Verna (nee Best) Hockett; twin sisters, Carolyn Magliola and Cathryn Richardson-Johns; and a brother Lt. James Hockett.
