Anne M. Thobe

Anne M. Thobe (née Beasley), 84, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025. She was born on November 6, 1940, in Chicago to Howard and Priscilla (Greif) Beasley.

Anne dedicated her life to caring for others. She earned her nursing degree from St. Mary’s, completed her master’s at DePaul, and trained at Mayo Clinic, where she later taught. She loved her work as a school nurse, especially the time spent with children.

In 1969, she married Urban Thobe in Chicago, and together they built a family filled with love and laughter. Anne was strong-willed, kind, and generous. She always welcomed others with open arms, had a great sense of humor, and wanted everyone around her to be happy.

She is survived by her children, Matthew (Patti) Thobe, Sara Thobe, and Kevin Thobe; her grandchildren, Grayson, Marie, and Catie; her siblings, Peggy Skok, Sally (the late Phil) Allen, Sue McDonald, and John (Karen) Beasley; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. mass at St. Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St., Barrington, IL. Burial will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine.
