Anthony Bennis

Anthony W. “Tony” Bennis,63, of Crystal Lake, passed away December 16, 2011. He was born on April 16,1948, in Freeport, IL to William and Dorothy Bennis. He was raised in Lincoln, IL

Tony graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1971. He married Barbara Bennis nee Thompson on October 6, 1984.

He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Bennis nee Thompson; loving daughter Wendy (Daniel) Hanebrink of Algonquin; cherished grandchildren Kurt and Brett Hanebrink of Algonquin; adored mother Dorothy Bennis of Thousand Oaks, CA; dear brother David Bennis of Lake Villa, IL and dearest sisters Mary Gibson of Wheeling, WV, Martha Scrimenti of Oak Park, CA, and Sara Sterbenc of Homewood, IL; 4 nieces, 3 nephews, 3 grand nieces, and one grand nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father William Bennis.

Visitation for Tony will be held on Tuesday, December 20,2011, from 4-9pm, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Avenue (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, December 21,2011, from 10am until the time of service at 11am, at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
