Anthony Brenner

August 21, 1920 — December 12, 2015

Anthony J. Brenner, 95, formerly of Palatine and Barrington, was born August 21, 1920 in Kansas City, MO to Anthony and Anna (nee Ehrenreich) Brenner. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 12, 2015.

Anthony was a graduate of St. Louis University and spent 30 years as an English Professor at Wilbur Wright College. He was also an adjunct professor at Harper College and DePaul University. In addition to his love for literature, he enjoyed classical music, woodworking, gardening, golf and daily word puzzles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Brenner (nee Zgliczynski), whom he married May 2, 1952 in Chicago; his children, Donna (Paul) Schardt, Larry (Mariaelana) Brenner, Robert Brenner, Richard (Joan) Brenner, Mark (Melissa) Brenner, and Ann (Rick) Cotner; brother-in-law George (Jo Ann) Glynn. He was a proud and loving grandfather to 16 grandchildren and one great grandson.

He is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Elizabeth Brenner; and his sister, Lucille Brenner.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 9:30am until time of funeral Mass at 11am at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela St., Barrington, IL 60010. Interment at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
