Anthony Charles Dahm, age 73, died peacefully Sept 28th after a year long battle with cancer.
Tony was the oldest son of loving parents Ethel and Erwin Dahm. Tony grew up working many long days at Ethel’s Place, his parent’s local farmstand. He worked alongside his parents and eventually ran the business which was famous for its sweet corn and tomatoes. Tony took great pride in farming, cultivating hundreds of acres throughout the northwest suburbs in his over 40 years as a master farmer. He was a hard working, smart businessman, never afraid to speak his mind. Tony had a huge heart, and an incredible gift for fixing anything. He loved golfing, especially with his family. He was a tireless and beloved “Papa” to 16 grandchildren. He rarely missed a game, recital or birthday party and dedicated so much of his time to creating fun experiences for them snowmobiling, boating and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Connie, devoted in loving marriage for 29 years, brother Jim (Leslie) Dahm, sister Helen (Bob) Skutley, his 7 children: Lisa Dahm, Shelly (John) Mattes, Eric (Joan) Maloney, Tony (April) Dahm, Jr., David (Martha) Maloney, Ryan (Meaghen) Dahm, and Lauren (Bryan) Gillis, and his treasured grandchildren: Kennedy, Margo, Nellie, Mike, Nora, Maddie, Mia, Sam, Ally, Nick, Delaney, Preston, Emersyn, Tommy, Jack and Patrick. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
