Arden Diane Perhats, 89, of Barrington passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 2, 1928 to John and Jessica (nee Wallace) Adams. The Adams family moved to Chicago in the 1930’s where Arden spent much of her youth beside her younger sister and lifelong friend, Gail.
After World War II, Arden met her dear husband Frank while they were both studying at De Paul University. They were married on June 16, 1951 and raised their young family on the northwest side of Chicago. They moved to the Barrington area in 1966 where they resided together until the passing of Frank in September of 2017.
Arden was an avid reader and lover of literature, a skilled bridge player, an enthusiastic bird watcher, and had a passion for journalistic writing. Throughout her life, she was an active volunteer in her community. She was a substitute teacher at Saint Anne Catholic School, a member of the parish women’s club, and an Ela Township precinct captain for many political campaigns.
Arden was a dedicated wife, devoted mother of four children, and a faithful Catholic. Her great sense of humor, graceful perseverance, and untold generosity inspired all who loved her.
Survivors include her children, Diane (Michael) Trickey, Mary Lynn (Paul) Tag, Cydne Perhats, and Frank (Kim) Perhats, Jr; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Eden) Quayle, Michele Trickey, Amanda Trickey, Matthew Perhats, Michael Perhats, Emily Perhats, and F.
