Arthur Henry Cameron, Jr., 92, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 1, 2025.
Arthur was born on August 17, 1932, at his home in Chicago to Arthur and Myrtle (Bleimehl) Cameron. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for eight years, including time in the Korean War. During his service, he worked as a demolition specialist and was honorably discharged in December of 1954.
On September 10, 1960, he married the love of his life, Mildred L. Zeissler. They built a beautiful life together until her passing on July 4, 2017.
Arthur had a passion for bowling and even competed at a semi-professional level. He was a lifelong sports fan, always cheering on Chicago teams, and enjoyed watching racing on TV. He worked for Culligan for 41 years, a job he was dedicated to. In retirement, he stayed active and could often be found watching his favorite game shows.
Arthur is survived by his children, Dean (Eva) Cameron, Joy Velasquez, Bruce Cameron, and Penny (Larry) Peters; his grandchildren, Bradley (Gloria), Alicia, and Melonie Velasquez, Kelsey and Lance Peters, and Lynn, Scott, and Carrie Cameron; and his sister, Myrtle (Dave) Helfers.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
