Arthur Levin

May 6, 1936 — January 26, 2013

Barrington Hills, Illinois,

Born May 6, 1936 in Chicago to Arthur and Louise Levin, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 after a 3 month battle with leukemia.

From an early age his parents instilled a great work ethic.  Growing up he had many different jobs.    Arthur founded Jewels by Park Lane in 1955.  His other passions included the Chicago Cubs and breeding  and racing Standard Bred horses with his wife Shirley for 25 years.

He met his wife Shirley early in the 1950’s and with his strong work ethic and her tenacity, together they embarked on a magnificent journey by creating Park Lane.  He was relentless and perseverant.  He had nine children who he instilled his strong work ethic.  He always said that Park Lane was his tenth child.  He loved all of the employees and sales representatives around the country.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley (nee Olson), children; Dawn (Robert) Primack, Scott Levin, Mark (Patricia) Levin, Keith (Diana) Levin, Melody (Kevin) Kral, Arthur D (Tara) Levin III, Ryan Levin, and Heather Ann (David) Riff, 19 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and brother Ray Levin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Randy, and granddaughter Nicole.
