Asta Strom

Asta was born May 27, 1923 in Malmö, Sweden to Hilding and Hedvig (nee Persson) Jönsson, passed away peacefully April 17, 2016 in Woodstock.
Asta worked for The Fabric Shop in Crystal Lake for over 40 years. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and counted cross-stitch. Asta also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and walking by the lake. She was a loving, devoted mother, and grandmother who treasured the time she spent cooking and hosting family for Sunday dinner.
Asta is survived by her children, Bo (Judy Claxton) Strom, Bodil (Gary) Goble, and Margaret (Carl) Davis; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Belda) Goble, and Christine Goble; and sister, Elsie Christeansson. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Strom; brother Stig Jönsson; and her parents.
A Celebration of Asta’s Life will be held from 1pm to 5pm, Sunday, April 24 at the home of Margaret and Carl Davis.
