Audrey Chaplis

Barrington, Illinois,A private funeral service for Audrey Chaplis (nee Nordgren), 88, formerly of St. Charles, will be held at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, in Barrington. Born March 30 1922, in Breitung Township, Michigan, she passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Sunrise Assisted Living, Barrington. Mrs. Chaplis was an outstanding baker, cook, and gardener. She worked as a supervisor at Moline Malleable for many years. Survivors include her grandchildren, Edward (Cheryl) Richardson and Patricia (Tom) Schoenbrun; great-grandchildren, John Henry Schoenbrun and Abra Mei Richardson; and sister, Gladys Mattord . She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Chaplis; daughters, Ruth Chaplis and Irene Richardson; parents, Theodore and Freda (nee Berglin) Norgren; and sister, Sylvia Schinderle. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Great Lakes Poodle Club of Chicago and Rescue, 1169 Devonshire, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089.
