Barbara Dunlap

Barbara M. Dunlap Born: April 21, 1928; In White Hall, WI Died: March 16, 2014; In Woodstock, IL Barbara M. Dunlap, age 85, of Woodstock, died March 16, 2014, in Woodstock, Illinois.
She was born April 21, 1928 in White Hall, Wisconsin. She married Howard L. Dunlap on August 17, 1949 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. After completing college at National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois, and graduate studies at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, she spent many years teaching in primary education, lastly at South Grade School in Crystal Lake, Illinois. She was a devoted mother and teacher to her students, receiving a Master Teacher Award in 1984 for "Outstanding Contributions to Education in Crystal Lake." During retirement, she served as a volunteer Ombudsman at Valley Hi Nursing Home, in a program sponsored by the State of Illinois and Retired Teachers of McHenry County.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; two children, Norman E. Dunlap of McHenry, and Sharon R.Martin of Woodstock; and four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Interment will be on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Southern Veteran Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, Wisconsin.
