The funeral service for Barbara Ann Hovland (nee Reeder),78, of Melbourne, AR, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 3, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington, where there will be visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.
Born February 20,1933, in Gary, IN, she passed away Saturday, May 28,2011, at the Pioneer Nursing Home, Melbourne.
Mrs. Hovland worked at the Barrington Courier Review, Technical Publishing /Dun & Bradstreet and in nursing as a CNA at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Hovland enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. She was a past member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Barrington, and was an avid Chicago Bulls and Cubs fan.
Survivors include her children, Jon M. (Veronica) Hovland of Rio, WI, Lynn J. (Donald) Amato of Barrington, and Karen A. (Phillip) White of Mountain View, AR; grandchildren, Michael and Jarrad Hovland of Rio, and Kevin and Haley Amato of Barrington; and sister, Virginia Rudolph of Clearwater, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Judson L. Hovland; and parents, Elbethel (nee Forsythe) and George Reeder.
