Barbara H. Piazza

Born April 1, 1935 in Chicago to the late Nils and Isabella (Nee Sandberg) Secund, Barbara H. Piazza, 82, of Bartlett, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017, at JourneyCare Hospice, Barrington.

Barbara's large family and many friends will remember her flair for cooking and baking, her keen skills as a seamstress, and her knack for decorating the home she maintained with an abundance of love.  She enjoyed traveling and vacationing with her loved ones, making frequent trips to Mexico, Europe, and destinations across the United States.  And she was a talented artist, whose fine paintings will continue to adorn the homes of her beloved children.

Barbara is survived by her loving children, Denise (Charles) Venegoni of Hoffman Estates, Michael (Becky) Piazza of Hoffman Estates, Karen (Peter) Phagan of Libertyville, Diane (Marc) Czapla of Cary, and Lori (Craig) Twaddle of Grayslake; her adored grandchildren, Cara and Justine Venegoni, Jennifer (Dave) Skwarek, and Adam and David (Lindsay) Piazza, Cassidy, Connor, and Caroline Phagan, Eric and Chloe Czapla, and Jackson and Abigail Twaddle; her cherished great-grandson, Brendan Piazza; her beloved sister, Rosemarie Brudnak; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Piazza; and brother, Ronald Secund.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, January 26, from 5-9 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
The memorial service will be held the following day, Saturday, January 27, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Joy Lutheran Church, 749 N Hunt Club Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031.
