Barbara Sgarbossa

Born Aug. 4, 1949 in Chicago, she passed away Jan. 15, 2012 in Barrington, surrounded by her family.

Barb cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.   She was a kind and generous friend of the community, she was an avid documentarian who enjoyed computers.

She was the beloved wife of 36 years to Joe Sgarbossa, loving mother of Michael (Melissa), Cherished daughter of Mabel (nee Decker), adored grandmother of Kylie and Madison, and dear sister of  Leo, Larry (JoAnne), Michael (Elaine), and Susie Barrett.  Barbara was also survived by 3 nieces, 3 nephews, and many dear friends, she will be greatly missed.  She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Barrett.

Visitation will be 4-9pm Thurs. Jan. 19, with a service at 8pm, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St, Barrington.

Interment is private.
