The visitation for Barbara Jo Ann Whistle (nee Novy),57, formerly of Elgin and Arizona, will be held from 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m., at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 401 E. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington, IL 60010.Pastor Jana Chwalisz will officiate.Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington.Born August 19,1954, in Elgin, she passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012.Barb attended Cary-Grove High School, worked at Illinois Bell as a telephone operator, and was a secretary to the principal at Deer Valley High School in Peoria, AZ.She was a fun-loving, practical joker, who was a caring person.Barb loved animals, feeding birds, spending time at the ocean and with her family.Barb is survived by her daughter, Katelyn Whistle of Arizona (daughter of John Whistle); siblings, Darlene (Donald) Snetsinger of Plymouth, WI, Marlene (Leroy) Moellenkamp of Arlington Heights, Emil (Arleen) Novy of Barrington, and Sally (Richard) Price of Palatine; many nieces and nephews, including her niece and caregiver, Dana Hummel, her husband, Rob Hummel, and daughters, Emily and Anna Hummel; great-nieces and nephews; and many loving and close friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Lucille (nee Pinnow) Novy; and niece, Susanne Lynette Price.
