Barbara Y. (Young) Wruck

Barbara Y. Wruck, 80, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully on September 9, 2018.  She was born in Chicago on December 30, 1937 to George and Mabel (nee Rose) Young.

Barbara met the love of her life, Mark, at Bruno’s Pizza in Chicago.  They married October 6, 1956 at St. Mel’s Church in Chicago; celebrating almost 62 years of marriage.

The two anchors of Barbara’s life were her faith and her big family.  She was an active member of the J.L.L. Bible Study group at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.  She was an avid quilter, reader, scrap booker, and amateur genealogist.  Barbara loved to play cards and ultimately spend time with her family.

She will be greatly missed by husband, Mark; children, Marc (Pam), Eric, Laura (David) Waldriff, Linda (Tom) Beeler, Jennifer (Ken) Bartels, Barbara (Chris) Thometz, and Matthew (Nicole); grandchildren, Amy, Joshua, Kelly James (Amanda), Seth, Erin (Neil), Hillary (Chris), Kate, Hank, Ruby, Anna, and Jack; great grandchildren, Berkeley, Nolan, Clint, Hazel, Rowyn, Conall, and soon to be born, Isla; and sister, Arlene (Paul) Simms.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mabel Young.

A Mass will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake.   Barbara will be interred at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
