Barda T. Overton

Barda T. Overton, of Crystal Lake, IL, formerly of Twin Lakes, WI, and Arlington Heights, IL, passed away February 11, 2022 at the age of 90.

She was born November 19, 1931 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Dale F. Root and Lillian (Barrie) Hadden Root.

On September 6, 1952, Barda was united in marriage to Daune S. Overton in Arlington Heights. She was a graduate of East Lyden High School in Franklin Park where she was a cheerleader and played the clarinet in the marching band.

Barda was primarily a homemaker but enjoyed her secretarial jobs with Sky Harbor Airport in Chicago; Bill Cook Buick in Arlington Heights; Randhurst Shopping Center Management Office in Mt. Prospect; and Joseph J. Freed & Associates in Arlington Heights.

Barda collected dolls and enjoyed sewing, crochet and other hand crafts.

Barda is survived by her children, Holly (Mark) Overton-Taylor of Winneconne, WI, Ellen (Cliff) Overton Jackson of Crystal Lake, April (Tim) Overton Carli of Woodstock, and Eric (Rena) Overton of Twin Lakes; her grandchildren, Joshua (Angela Echeveste) Hogreve of Racine, WI, Ken (Tanya Rutkowsky) Hogreve of Genoa City, WI, Ryan (Melissa) Jackson of McHenry, Brett (Maggie) Jackson of Marengo, Brianna (Jesse Glod) Carli of Wauwatosa, WI, and Drew (Nancy Ramirez) Carli of Woodstock; and her great-grandchildren, Hailey, Chelsea, and Henry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daune S. Overton; brother, Roy V. Root; and her granddaughter, Nicole Daune Jackson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake. The funeral service will be held the following day, Wednesday, February 16, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mound Prairie Cemetery, Twin Lakes, WI.
