Bernard R. Bloom,94, of Lake Geneva, died Thursday, October 27, 2011. He was born June 19,1917, in Chicago, to the late Joseph B. and Mildred Phieffer. He married the late Florence Pacholczak on June 25, 1938.
Mr. Bloom was a sheet-metal worker who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, boat racing, snowmobiling, and motorcycling. He loved music and playing the drums.
Survivors include his daughter, Beverly (James) Kruse; grandchildren, Laura (Greg) Urban and Steven (Brianna) Deering; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Cole, Delaney and Molly Deering; and sister, Lorraine Patrone.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Bloom was preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond Bloom and Marjorie Sandblom.
The visitation will be from 4-9 p.m., Sunday, October 30,2011, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake Cook Rd), Barrington, IL, with a second visitation being held one hour prior to the Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Monday, October 31,2011, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela St. (corner of Franklin and Ela Streets), Barrington. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
