Lakewood, Illinois,Bernice "Bea" M. Gryczka Bernice "Bea" M. Gryczka, age 79, of Crystal Lake, died on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. She was born on March 25, 1931, in Minden, MI to Frank and Laura (nee Peruski) Grifka. On September 13, 1952, she was united in marriage to James "Jack" Gryczka. They spent their early married life in Detroit, MI before moving to Des Plaines in 1960. In 1987, they moved to Crystal Lake. Bea was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was surrounded by wonderful friends throughout her life. She worked at Littlefuse in Des Plaines as an Industrial Engineering Secretary for 25 years until she retired in 1992. Bea was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She volunteered at the Home of the Sparrow Resale shop in Cary and Centegra Woodstock Hospital gift shop for many years. Bea enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Bea is survived by her loving husband Jack; their children, Sheryl (Tom Gierahn) Serpe of Burlington, WI and Todd (Cathie) Gryczka of Tinley Park; grandchildren, Michael (Sharon) Gryczka, Mark Gryczka, Steven Gryczka and Matthew Gierahn; brother-in-law, Conrad (Joan) Gryczka of Melbourne Beach, FL; sisters-in-law, Ruth Grifka of Warren, MI, Charlotte Grifka of Troy, MI and Billy Grifka of Zachary, LA; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ray Grifka, Richard (Pat) Grifka, Art (Suzie) Grifka, Norbert Grifka, Herbert Grifka, Eugene Grifka, Rita (Zig) Oberski, Catherine (Frank) Wojtolewicz, Clara (Julius) Trepkowski, Minnie (Ira) Trepkowski, Josephine (Ambrose) Chinoski, and Irene (Jim) Maurer. Relatives and friends may visit with family on Sunday, August 22 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, from 3-8 p.m., and Monday, August 23 from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake. Entombment will be in Windridge Memorial Park and Nature Sanctuary Mausoleum, Cary. The family would like to thank the staff at Centegra Woodstock and McHenry Hospitals and Northwestern Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion.
