Bernice W. Papciak, 102, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2022, at her home in Lake Zurich.
Bernice was born June 7, 1919, in Chicago, to Walter and Mary Wisniewski where she grew up liking to draw and read. During the war, she drew maps. As a young adult, she was employed as a bookkeeper and was a member of a woman’s group, the Archerettes. After getting married she moved with her family to Morton Grove where she raised her children, was a devoted wife, loving mother, Girl Scout leader, and homemaker. She lived almost ten years in Morton Grove after her husband of 56 years passed in 2002. Bernice then moved to Lake Zurich, living her last ten years at Zurich Meadows where she made many wonderful new friends.

Papciak, beloved wife of the late Edward; loving mother of Nancy (Lawrence) Arendt, Janice (James) Neubauer, and Kenneth (late Christine) Papciak; loving grandmother of Peter (Katherine), Neubauer, Melissa (Sean) McMullen, Justin (Erica) Arendt, Heather (Trenton) Motley, and Timothy Papciak; fond great-grandmother of Wyatt Arendt, Kacie McMullen, Andrew Arendt, Laurel Neubauer, Sylvia McMullen, Sawyer Arendt, Elliott Neubauer, Thomas McMullen, Amelia Motley, and Dawson Motley; dear sister of the late Wanda Dankowski and the late Jenney (late Walter) Schafrik.
Memorial visitation will be 10am until the memorial service at 12pm, Tuesday June 7 at Davenport Family Funeral Home. 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich.
