Bernice Philip,88, of Barrington and formerly of Palatine and Rolling Meadows, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011.
She was born on January 31, 1923 in Malawa, Poland.
Bernice was a hard worker and was a member of Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA). She enjoyed traveling but most enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was the loving mother of her children, Bruno (Louise) Philip, Helen (Bruce) Koziol, and Paul Philip; beloved grandmother of Catherine (Garrin) Kay, Michael Koziol, Jane Philip, Joe (Kristin) Philip, Victoria Philip, and Catherine Philip; cherished great grandmother of Emma, Abby, and Angelo William Kay; dear sister of Monica Warchol and Staszka Strzepek ; and aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Philip; a sister, Eugenia Wiech; and brothers, Bruno, Ignacz, Stanley, Julian, and Henry Wilk.
The visitation will be from 3-8pm, Wednesday, Nov. 2 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W Main St (Lake-Cook Rd), Barrington. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am, Thursday, Nov. 3 preceded by an hour of visitation beginning at 9am at St. Anne Church, 120 N Ela St (corner of Franklin and Ela Streets), Barrington. Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
