Betty Lou Bruch

Betty Lou Bruch, 93, of Barrington, IL and formerly of Ottumwa, IA, passed away peacefully Friday, March 11, 2022.  She was born January 17, 1929, in What Cheer, IA to Godfrey and Verna (nee Rice) Allar.

Betty was a graduate of Carson High School in Marengo, IA.  She earned a Masters Degree in Banking from the University of Wisconsin School of Banking and finished her working career as the Vice President of Trust Services at the Iowa-Des Moines National Bank in Ottumwa, IA.

Betty is survived by her husband of 73 years, Harold W. Bruch; daughter Katherine (Terry) Martinson, sons Christopher and Philip (Karen) Bruch and daughter-in-laws Nancy Bruch and Terri Bruch.  Also, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonny Weber and Patricia Fry; and a large network of extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Ruth, son Thomas, three sisters, Margie Tennyson, Eloise Davis, Helene Moser.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be scheduled for this summer in Ottumwa, IA.
