Betty Frederick

Betty Lou Frederick, age 90, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015. She was born on Nov. 5, 1925 in DeKalb, IL to Bert and Esther Griswold.

Betty was very active in Crystal Lake Women’s Club, Book Club and was a long time member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She was an avid golfer at Crystal Lake Country Club, as well as a frequent bowler. Betty greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially going out to dinner with her lady friends. She now joins her late husband, Paul H. Frederick, who was actively involved in the Crystal Lake community and past president of Home State Bank of Crystal Lake.

Throughout her lifetime, Betty touched many lives and will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her. There was no limitation to the love Betty extended to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Roger (Sherri) Frederick, Linda (Richard) Scobee and David (Linda) Frederick; grandchildren, Brian (Daenon) Scobee, Melissa (Anthony) Petersen, Michael (Kelly) Frederick, Jill (Brian) Friedman, Christine Scobee, Laura Frederick; step-granddaughters, Kelli (Michael) Clayton, and Leann Croft; great-grandchildren, Cole, Jase, Piper, Madelynn, Jack, Cameron, Ava, Sean, Reese, Maeve; 8 step great-grandchildren; and brother Ben Griswold.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, and two sisters.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. The funeral service will be held at 10 am, Thursday, December 31 at the funeral home. Burial in Crystal Lake Memorial Park will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 76 W. Crystal Lake Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
