Betty Wilson Schultz passed away peacefully September 30, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 24,1925 in Chicago, IL to George and Idel Wilson.
Betty had so much love to give, it was unending and overflowing. Her family was her heart. She had a unique way of making each one feel special and was always interested in hearing about their lives finding a special connection with each one. Her love was unconditional. She was the center of the family, the glue, and the queen of our hearts. She also never let you leave empty handed, she always wanted to send you off with treats. She was always giving. Betty also loved Jesus and her church. She had unwavering faith, her church family felt her love and it caused people to gravitate to her. She often had a crowd around her waiting to give or receive a hug. She could be seen with a serene smile as she listened to Pastor Josh’s message and joy on her face as she watched her great granddaughters enjoy the music and rush off to children’s church.
Betty had a second family in the Courtyards of McHenry. She loved the staff and residents and was often handing them chocolate bars because she thought they all worked so hard. She was better than any welcome wagon at encouraging newcomers. She always had a smile, a wave, or would grab a hand and tell you that you looked beautiful. From the kitchen staff to the housekeepers, the caregivers and nurses, the office staff or hairdresser, she loved them all. This was her home, or as she called it, her sanctuary.
It didn’t matter if you were a waiter, bank teller, doctor, nurse, or grocery checker, she made time to smile and talk to you with sincere interest in your life. Everyone mattered to her and she wanted to make their life easier. What a wonderful legacy of love to leave. She made this world a much better place and she will be greatly missed by all, especially her family.
“Well done, good and faithful servant”, Matthew 25:21
