Betty R. (Gossard) Womack Anderson

Betty R. Womack Anderson, 89, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully on August 6, 2021.  She was born in Freeport, IL to David Wales and Marian (nee Shilling) Gossard.

Betty grew up in Lanark, IL and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Northern Illinois University.  She was a teacher at Briargate Elementary School in Cary for 23 years, retiring in 1990.  After retirement, she worked for 13 years at New Life Christian Bookstore.

She married Maurice (Marc) Womack in March 1958.  He preceded her in death.   Betty then married Harry Anderson in April 1994.   He passed in November of 1999.

Betty was very generous with her time and resources. She was an avid crocheter and gifted all that she made to relatives, friends and charities.  Betty enjoyed reading and taking care of the wildlife in her backyard.  She loved to teach and even after her death, as per her wishes, her body is being donated to science for further education.

Betty leaves behind her children, Michael (Elise) Womack of Libertyville, David Womack of San Diego, CA, Nancy (James) Campbell of Las Vegas, NV, Alan (Patricia) Anderson of Rockford, and Deborah (Mitch) Avery of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Allyson Womack, Christian Womack, Melanie (Jeff) Deleon, Julie Riette and Rene Riette; Kayla (JD) Nelsen, Lisa Avery, and Alan Anderson, Jr. and David Anderson; and great grandchildren, Nathan, Nora and Chandler.

She was preceded in death by her husbands and her brother, Kenneth Gossard.
