Crystal Lake, Illinois,Visitation for Bettye Mae Pozniakoff, 88, of Crystal Lake, will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, from 10am until the time of service at 11am, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Avenue (Rte 176), Crystal Lake. Interment to follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Hampshire. Born August 29, 1921 in Akron, Ohio, she passed away on April 24, 2010 in McHenry. While living in Holland, she was taken to Germany and became a POW of Liebenau Prisoner Camp, from approximately 14-18 years of age, and was traded for 2 German officers. She came back and worked for Boeing, working on bomber planes. Bettye was also a nurse?s aide for 30 plus years, working for the IL State Mental Health Department. She was known to her CB Radio buddies as "the Little Rebel". She lived life with joy and care, and was a service to mankind. She is survived by her beloved children Theodore (Rita) Pozniakoff, Robin Pozniakoff, Claudia (Alan Gaines) Pozniakoff, Eugene Pozniakoff, and Timothy (Janice) Ingel, and Daughter-in-law Debbie Simonetta; cherished grandchildren Jack Boucek, Sean Pozniakoff, Evan Pozniakoff, and Robyn; dear great grandchildren Keely Seyller, River Seyller, and Syles Tucker Pozniakoff; dearest sister in laws Sissy Bakker and Shirley Bakker. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Theodore, loving son Radley, cherished grandson Shane, and dear brothers John and Robert Bakker.
