Beverly Montgomery

Beverly Joyce Montgomery (nee Hollister), 75, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 17 in Woodstock surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 1, 1939, to George and Marie Hollister in Woodstock.

Beverly was a graduate of Harvard High School. She was employed at Arnolds Engineering in Marengo for many years. Beverly founded Dundee Resale Shop, which she owned and operated for many years and worked for Kmart in Woodstock where she retired in 2001.

Beverly loved spending time with her family, playing bingo, computer games, and could not wait for Wheel of Fortune to come on to play along, knowing the answers most of the time before the contestants.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Montgomery; children, Robert Montgomery Jr., Rhonda Guzy, and Rodney Montgomery; grandchildren, Robert Montgomery III, Amie and April Guzy, and Corey Thompson; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Russell and David Hollister; sisters, Dorothy Berry, and Diane Krause; and dear friend Cheryl.

She was preceded in death by her son, Rory Montgomery; brother, George Hollister; sister, Ellen Pippel; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4-8p.m., Monday, September 22 at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176), Crystal Lake.

The funeral service will be held at 12pm, Tuesday, September 23 at the funeral home followed by burial in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock IL.
