Bill Irwin

Harold “Bill” William Irwin, Jr., age 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, March 1st, 2024.

Bill was born in Port Chester, NY on August 19th, 1957. Upon graduating from the College of Boca Raton (1978) and the University of California at Santa Barbara (1980), Bill began working at ATC, the company his father founded. His time at ATC included many years of working alongside his father and brothers. During his career Bill grew and led the company to continued success for decades. He loved to travel and experience the world with his family and friends. He always brought warmth and comfort to the room and loved to share his experiences and stories with others. He adored his children and grandchildren. Nothing brought him more joy than time spent with them. He had an affinity for collecting cameras, watches, pens, cars, and hats, to name a few. Bill was an avid fan of music, attended a multitude of concerts, and was especially fond of Jimmy Buffet and AC/DC.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Sue Irwin (nee Till); loving daughter, Megan (Lucky) Ferguson; stepchildren, Melissa (TJ) Waszak, Bob Esvang, and Jennifer (Bill) Chambers; grandchildren, Logan Waszak, Mallory and Noah Chambers, Owen and Stella Ferguson; brothers, Scott (Lucia) Irwin, Michael (Sarah) Irwin and Rick Irwin.

Preceded in death by his parents Harold “Harry” and Carol (Scheinoha) Irwin.

A visitation for Bill will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. A second visitation will be held the following morning at the funeral home from 10am until the time of service at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barrington United Methodist Church (Barrington, IL), the National Kidney Foundation , or the American Heart Association.
