Blaine Hood

Blaine Hood, 59, of Algonquin, was born August 8, 1956 in Augusta, GA to Leroy and Romona (nee Cuevas) Hood. He passed away and is at peace from a long battle with cancer, Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in Barrington.
Blaine is survived by his wife, Tammy (nee Strahs) Hood; his brothers, Bruce (Michele) Hood, Scott (Jenny) Hood, and Chris (Penny) Hood; his sister-in-law, Robin Pappenfus; his nieces and nephews, Ashley Hood, Jessica Hood, Mindy Hood, Jennifer Hood-Cyran (Shawn), Kathleen (Jon) Harnish, Anthony Pappenfus, Lindsay Pappenfus, and Zachary DeBree.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Blaine Hood and mother, Romona Beatrice Hood.
Blaine was a sportsman and felt most at peace in the outdoors. His deep love of nature and wildlife was shared by his brothers and father. Blaine loved adventure; he explored the world through travel and was always willing to try new things. He loved music and playing his guitar. Blaine was an avid Chicago sports fan with favorite teams being the Bears, the Blackhawks, and the White Sox. He was a devoted husband and very loved brother and uncle.
The family will be receiving guests from 9am until time of memorial service at 11am, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington IL 60010.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Esophageal Cancer Awareness Society or American Cancer Society.
