Bobette "Bobbi" B. Estes

Bobette “Bobbi” Estes (nee Bechtel), 82, passed away on January 12, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack, mother to Ellise Kingsberg (Joe Nekola) and Susan Estes, and sister to Dale Bechtel.

Bobbi was born and grew up in the suburbs of Milwaukee, WI. She and Jack moved to Barrington, IL in 1982. Jack’s career at A.O. Smith took them briefly to the Dallas area in the late 1980’s, but they returned to Barrington a few years later after his retirement. All told, Barrington was her home for close to 40 years.

Bobbi was an active member of the Irish Setter Club of America and the Western Irish Setter Club, taking a serious interest in the betterment of the breed, while breeding and showing her own champion Irish Setters. She was a gifted gardener as well – her home was often colored by the beautiful blooms on her many orchids, and she had a large vegetable garden in the yard supplying the house fresh produce all spring, summer, and fall.

In recent years, she enjoyed watching the sandhill cranes that would wander through her yard.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 2 PM until 4 PM with a brief prayer starting at 4 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake Cook Rd.), Barrington, IL 60010. Interment will be private.
