Bonnie Jean Vaughan, 82, of Lake Barrington Shores passed away on July 26, 2019. She was born in Chicago in 1936 to the late Leo Charles and Gladys Rozakles.
Bonnie was the widow of U.S. Navy Commander Henry Lee Vaughan, a WWII Submarine Veteran who preceded her in death in 1992.
Bonnie was a very active member of the Mended Hearts program of Good Shepherd Hospital, the Barrington Women’s Club and the St. Anne Catholic Church Compassionate Ministry. She enjoyed being part of Lake Barrington Shores Garden Club, Shorecroppers, Ladies Club and Condo Association. She and her friends, the “Dining Divas,” as she called them, had dinner together once a month at each other’s homes. She retired in 1999 as Senior Vice President of Retail Administration for Cole Taylor Bank following a long career in banking. She loved to swim, play golf, was a wickedly good Dominoes player and even had personalized dominoes that say “Domino Diva.”
