Brandon J Owens

Brandon J. Owens, 57, a life-long resident of Barrington, Illinois, passed away
unexpectedly on August 15, 2021. Brandon was born on May 27, 1964 in
Evanston, Illinois. A Memorial Gathering will be held in his honor on Friday,
August 20, 2021 in the garden of the Owens’ residence at 216 Washington Street,
Barrington, Illinois from 2:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m.
Brandon graduated from Barrington High School in 1982 and went on to achieve a
Bachelor’s of Science in Horticulture from Oregon State University.
Brandon enjoyed sports, spending time with his family, and tending to his garden.
He shared his love of all things outdoors with his two kids and ensured everyone
knew what native plants were in their yards. He was the life of every party and
sparked joy in every person he met. Brandon was a lifelong friend to many and
will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Brandon is survived by the love and light of his life of 24 years, Kimberly Owens;
his mother, Donna Lee Owens; his two beloved children, Jillian of Chicago and
Jack of Barrington; his sisters, Kimberly (Patrick) Fitzgerald and Megan (David)
Singh; his brother-in-law, Kenneth Simpson; his nieces and nephews, Kate and
Ethan Simpson, Will and Emma Fitzgerald, and Charlotte, Violet and Leela Singh;
and his great-niece, Madison Simpson.
Brandon was preceded in death by his father, Perry Buck Owens and his sister,
Devney Owens.
Memorial contributions may be made out to Citizens for Conservation to preserve
his memory and the forests he loved so much.
