Reflections of Bruce
Throughout his life, Bruce was a child of God. Growing up, he attended Sunday school and church with his family. Bruce had many challenges. He turned to God for spiritual comfort throughout his life journey. Attending church with fellow nursing home residents was an event that he looked forward to each week. He appreciated the inspirational guidance, as well as the fellowship he received there with others.
Everyone who knew Bruce saw him as a kindhearted, generous soul. He was both giving and compassionate toward others in spite of his own difficulties.
Music was a special joy and passion for Bruce. Listening to records, cassette tapes, and eventually CDs were special times for him. He learned to play the guitar at an early age and was a member of a high school band called “The Shades of Gray”. He loved to play his guitar and sing the songs of the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and other groups of the Sixties.
Go Cubs! Go Bears! Go Bulls! Go Blackhawks! Bruce loved the Chicago sports teams. He always enjoyed family outings to Chicago sporting events. Attending Blackhawk and Cub games with his father were special father-son occasions and later in life, he liked sharing those memories with others.
Bruce was loved by his family and will be remembered by others as a kind and thoughtful person. He truly will be missed by all of us.
