Caleb Harnish

September 4, 1999 — November 29, 2016

Caleb Jason Harnish, 17, died November 29, 2016 as a result of a tragic accident.

He was born September 4, 1999 in Elgin, the son of Jason and Sarah (Hohmeier) Harnish. He attended Harry D. Jacobs High School his freshman year, and then continued his sophomore and junior years at Prairie Ridge High School, where he was an avid wrestler, playing with the varsity team and winning numerous accolades.

Caleb was an amazing and gifted guitar player. At age 10, Caleb started playing and wrote his own songs. His dream was to continue his music career professionally, writing music and playing guitar. He is remembered for his sense of humor and his funny personality, a gifted student, and a role model as the oldest cousin.

Caleb’s friends and family describe his kindness, putting others needs before his own, his freckles, his smile, his motivation and positive outlook on life. He loved all of his family and friends and enjoyed spending quality time with each and every one of them.

Caleb is survived by his parents, Jason and Sarah Harnish of Crystal Lake; his sisters, Faith and Kayley; his brother, Austin; his paternal grandparents Paul and Nancy Harnish; and his maternal grandparents Judy Sidor and John Hohmeier. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Lyndsey and Aaron Harnish, Jon and Anne Harnish; and his cousins, Elizabeth, Andrew, Robbie, John, and Camden Harnish.
