Carl H. Bley

Carl H. Bley, age 36, of Hoffman Estates, IL passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.

Carl was born in Elk Grove Village, IL to Karl and Ruth Bley. Carl is survived by his loving parents, Karl and Ruth Bley; sister, Lizette (Patrick) McNellis; sister, Christina (Jason) Walk; niece, Olivia McNellis; nephew, Robert McNellis; aunt, Carmen Donis; aunt, Delmi Magana; uncle, Erich (Marlis) Bley; and cousin, Sven (Coleen) Bley.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Erich and Hildegard Bley and Matilde Antonio Bolanos and Rosario Santos.

A kind and gentle soul with a quick wit, Carl was a graduate of University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He was an Integration Technician, working with computer hardware at Zones. However, his real passion was making people laugh. Clever anecdotes told with a deadpan delivery were his specialty. Carl performed weekly improv at the Bughouse Theater in Chicago. He also loved exploring the country on road trips with his friends. At home, you could find him with his two cats, Buddy and Katja. Carl also loved video gaming, mountain biking and following the Chicago Bulls.

A visitation for Carl will be on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 1pm until 4pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 149 West Main Street, Barrington, IL 60010. A second visitation will be held at 10am on Monday, May 17, 2021 at St. Anne Catholic Community, N. Ela Street, Barrington, IL, followed by a service at 11am and burial at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bughouse Theater .
