Carl M. Smith, Jr.

Carl M. Smith, Jr., 73, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 28, 1944 in St. Paul, MN to Carl and Helen (nee Bain) Smith.

Carl was a proud veteran of the United States Marines for 22 years of service. He was also a civilian contractor with the Marine Corp and Air force for 22 years. Carl enjoyed reading, discussing history and politics, playing chess with his wife. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. Carl had excellent culinary skills as his wife’s sous chef.

Carl will be deeply missed by his wife of 52 years, Vicki A. (nee Rose) Smith; his daughter, Jamie (Todd) Crandall of Crystal Lake; his grandchildren, Taylor, Ashley, Madison, and Joshua Crandall, Briauna and Emily Smith, and Riley Rupert; his great grandson, George Smith; and his sister, Suzann C. Siqveland of Burnsville, MN.

He is preceded in death by his son, Jason C. Smith; his sister, Kathryn Ann (Chuck) Peterson; and his parents.

Services and interment will be private.
