Carmen was born November 16, 1918 in Bryan, Texas to Salvatore and Carrie Scamardo, he passed away peacefully Thursday, October 4, 2012 in Barrington.
Carmen served in the United States Army from August 1944 to August 1946, during World War II, earning several medals of recognition.
Carmen is survived by his daughter Arlene (the late Roger) Lynch, grandchildren; Mary (Robert) Gemeinhardt, Kathryn (John) Kurzawa, Carey Lynch, Deneen (Sal) Evola, and Anthony (Shelly) Scamardo, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Eleanor (nee Lombardo), daughter Donna Koster, and his siblings.

10/5/2012 16:19,The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am Tuesday, October 9 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela St (corner of Franklin and Ela streets), Barrington, with visitation from 9am until the time of Mass. Burial, with military honors, will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
